Dali

Cécile Boudon

Real name: Dalida 2

(Born 01/12/13)

An improbable rescue…
It all started in Monclar, to go and see some donkeys for sale... But the surprise was total! The farmer took us into his cows' barn, and very quickly, we understood that the notions of care and hygiene were not his priority.

In the middle of a “manure island,” a group of donkeys were fighting violently for the favors of the females. Open wounds, torn ears, bloody injuries… total chaos. Among them were young donkeys, not old enough to be bred, yet nursing a foal and pregnant again. Dali was one of them: at only 3 years old, she had just given birth to a foal… and was pregnant again!

After a few checks, we decide to take it with us. Once freed from its 10cm-thick armor of manure, Dali reveals itself to be magnificent.

She's a reserved, intelligent, and, above all, incredibly grateful donkey. With a little patience and a few reminders of etiquette, she quickly finds her place in the herd and thrives in her new life.

Dali today
Curious, cuddly, and close to people, Dali has become an exemplary mother. And you know what? She has a little touch of mischief all her own... which she has clearly passed on to her offspring! 😅

She has found her place in our herd, and her difficult past has never altered her sweet and playful heart. A true resilient creature, full of life and love to give.
