The fiery character

Daughter of Mélodie and Rasta (Baudet du Poitou PP) and half-sister of Arsinoée. Tall, proud and imposing, she never goes unnoticed... and her nickname “Attila” is no coincidence!

Altaya is the strong character of the herd: it's best not to upset her 😆. But behind this volcanic temperament, there is also a rare beauty: perfect proportions, a regal presence and an imposing udder. She really has everything to please to become THE dairy, and yet...

Mom's beginnings... eventful

At 5 years old, Altaya gives birth for the first time. And then, surprise: she violently pushes away her foal, Effendi. Between bites and kicks, we have to intervene to protect the baby.

Colostrum, that precious first milk full of antibodies, is provided by Altaya… but it is above all Princess who saves the day, guiding Effendi towards the breast with patience and gentleness. Mission accomplished: Effendi survives, and Altaya… keeps her character intact 😅.

Surprise pregnancy

In 2017, it happened again: Altaya gave us a surprise. A hidden pregnancy for over 390 days! This time, no substitute donkey was available: Holly, her daughter, was raised on a bottle.

Since then, no more mating, her maternal instinct being more than questioned...

Altaya is therefore the beauty that imposes itself, the character that surprises, and the heart that always ends up revealing itself , when you know how to put a little patience into it!
